Everytime I have the chance to Interview "Sick" Ass Emcee's I always want to include the Fans. I know if someone asked me if I had any questions for Lauryn Hill (My Idol) I would jump on it! This is Part 1 of what I call the Fan Q & A Section. So many "Soldiers" (Props to The Sick Side Army!) submitted some dope questions that we are doing Part 1, Part 2 and possibly part 3. As a SickSide Soldier myself I enjoyed the questions and his Answers!

My New Psycho Realm Interview will be up ASAP. Along with each one. Sick Jacken, Cynic & DJ F.M get your questions ready for those!

Fan Question: I would ask Jacken if he has been approached by any mainstream artists lately, looking to have him featured on an album. Sine he has been in the rap game for so long, how does he view the LA rap scene now?

Sick Jacken: I'VE BEEN APPROACHED BY A FEW ARTISTS IN THE GAME, NOBODY TOO MAINSTREAM. YOU'LL BE SEEING A FEW FEATURES IN THE NEAR FUTURE. I RECENTLY DID SONGS WITH LA COKA NOSTRA, IMMORTAL TECHNIQUE, PLANET ASIA, AND A FEW OTHERS. I'VE BEEN CONNECTING WITH A LOT OF L.A. ARTISTS ALSO. I SEE A MOVEMENT BUILDING OUT HERE WITH SOME REAL HIP HOP MUSIC.

Fan Question:
Have they [Psycho Realm/Sick Symphonies] seen any changes in the raza community That there music have contributed to it, For the fact there always talking About there revolutionary ..?

Sick Jacken: WE DON'T CLAIM TO BE REVOLUTIONARY. EVERYONE IS IN CONTROL OF THEIR OWN LIVES AT THE END OF THE DAY. THE MUSIC WE MAKE IS MEANT TO SHED LIGHT ON DIFFERENT ASPECTS OF LIFE, POLITICS, RELIGION, ETC. IT'S JUST OUR OPINIONS AND IDEAS. THE REVOLUTIONARY CONCEPT IS MOSTLY LABELED BY THE LISTENERS. I HAVE HAD MANY PEOPLE SAY THAT OUR MUSIC CHANGED THEIR LIVES IN A POSITIVE WAY, AND THAT'S SOMETHING I CAN APPRECIATE. YOU KNOW AS WELL AS I DO THAT A RAP GROUP CAN'T CHANGE THE WORLD. THE WORLD CAN'T EVEN CHANGE ITSELF BECAUSE THERE ARE TOO MANY DIVIDING FACTORS.

Fan Question:
"Muggs vs. Sick Jacken" = The legend of the Mask and the Assassin" is one of the best CD's I've heard in a lonnnng time...can we expect a sequel....and are there any plans for an east coast tour in the near future??

Sick Jacken: WE DEFINITELY TALKED ABOUT DOING ANOTHER RECORD TOGETHER, I DON'T KNOW IF IT'LL BE A SEQUEL THOUGH. WE GOT A FEW THINGS GOING WITH SOME EAST COAST ARTISTS AND HOPE THAT IT WILL HELP US GET THAT TOUR OUT THERE.

Fan Question:  How do you respond to kids that have disdain for hip-hop as something "old" and no longer of interest? Originally Hip Hop was the voice of the youth, How do you respond to this demoralizing trend?

Sick Jacken: THEY AIN'T LOOKING HARD ENOUGH FOR THE GOOD STUFF. THERE ARE SOME GREAT ALBUMS OUT THERE. ARTISTS LIKE EVIDENCE, KILLAH PRIEST... GHOSTFACE IS ALWAYS GUARANTEED TO GIVE YOU A BANGER ONCE A YEAR. DOM PACHINO, ALCHEMIST, ETC. THEY CAN'T GET IT TWISTED AND THINK THAT THE BULLSHIT ON THE RADIO IS TODAY'S HIP HOP. IT'S JUST POP. HIP HOP WAS FORCED TO GO UNDERGROUND AND YOU GOTTA DIG FOR IT IF YOU WANT TO HEAR IT.

Fan Question:
Do you think we need to find new unorthodox subjects to rap about to give the new generation replacing us something to relate to??

Sick Jacken: I THINK YOU SHOULD GET CREATIVE WITH YOUR MUSIC ANYWAY, THAT ALONE CAN DRAW IN PEOPLE OF DIFFERENT AGES, BACKGROUND, ETC.

Fan Question: What new technology do you see rising that will change the music industry igniting a new music scene?

Sick Jacken: YOU'RE ALREADY SEEING THE BEGINNING STAGES OF IT. THE FACT THAT ANYONE WITH A COMPUTER CAN RECORD AN ALBUM, CREATE THE ARTWORK FOR IT, BURN IT, AND DISTRIBUTE IT VIA THE INTERNET, HOLDS AN INFINITE POTENTIAL FOR NEW IDEAS AND STYLES OF MUSIC. WHERE BEFORE IT WAS LIMITED TO THOSE WHO COULD AFFORD TO PAY $1,500 A DAY FOR STUDIO, NOW AN ARTIST THAT'S RICH WITH TALENT BUT LOW ON ENDS CAN PUT HIS/HER MUSIC OUT. YOU'LL BE HEARING SOME GOOD SHIT SOON, WHEN THEY LEARN HOW TO WORK IT ALL OUT.

Fan Question:
Your style of rap has given both Hip-Hop and raza a dynamic new sound. Do you have any female musicians you plan to bless us with?

Sick Jacken:
I HAVEN'T FOUND ONE YET. ALL THE GOOD ONES I'VE CAME ACROSS ARE ALREADY TIED DOWN TO SOMEBODY.

Fan Question: WHAT ARE THE PRO AND CONS FROM LINKING UP WITH A MAJOR LABEL
FROM AN ESTABLISHED INDEPENDENTS VIEW?

Sick Jacken: THE PROS IS THAT YOU INHERIT THEIR CHECK BOOK, RESOURCES, AND CONTACTS. THE CONS ARE TOO MANY TO LIST. THE MAIN ONE IS THAT THEY ARE USED TO RUNNING A CERTAIN WAY AND ARE RARELY OPEN TO CHANGE, OR SOMETIMES THEY JUST DON'T GET IT. IN MY CASE, THEIR BLUEPRINT FOR SELLING COMMERCIAL RECORDS DIDN'T FIT ME. BEING THAT THEY LOST THE ART OF STREET PROMOTION WHEN RADIO KICKED IN, THEY'RE PRETTY MUCH CLUELESS ON HOW TO WORK MY RECORD. SO AT THIS POINT, THEY'RE JUST CUTTING INTO MONEY I WOULD'VE MADE ON MY OWN, WHEN THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO MAKE IT BIGGER THAN WHAT IT ALREADY WAS. AT THE END OF THE DAY THOUGH, EVEN A BABY STEP FORWARD IS A POSITIVE STEP. IF THEY FINANCED TWO VIDEOS, GAVE ME SOME PROMOTION, AND MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR A KID IN JERSEY TO WALK INTO A STORE AND COP MY RECORD, I'M WINNING.
