Cymarshall Law Interview
by Dub MD

Dub MD: Cymarshall Law, What's good?
Cymarshall Law: Everything,  The Sun is Shining on ya boy right now!

Dub MD: For those who don't know, could you just give a short review of what you've experienced in your rap career up until now?
Cymarshall Law: I've put out 2 CDs a year since I left High School, have toured U.S., Canada and Europe several times, shared stages with legends, have done songs with legends, I've experienced hate but more importantly I've experienced love, I've fallen and gotten back up, this year several labels have got at me about signing to their companies i would imagine because my relentless grind is making waves now. I'm me Original, Lyrical, Hip Hip in the Physical, Cymarshall Law.

Dub MD: Based in New Jersey, what do you think of the New Jerz music scene right now?
Cymarshall Law: I feel like New Jerz is still waiting patiently to blow we've got all the talent there's no doubt, the only thing is I don't see why there's a reason to be patient, we absolutely deserve ours in the game everyone knows it but we gotta come together and get it or else we will never will, but there's some of us out there who bussing our ass for Jerz so we'll see what happens, but yea there is always an overload of talent in New Jersey.

Dub MD: What do you think of the commercialisation of Hip Hop right now, do you think its showing respect to its pioneers?
Cymarshall Law: Hip Hop is everywhere and I don't mind that, I don't think its disrespecting them. I wish there was more paying respect to them and acknowledgement of what they've done, sometimes it does rub me the wrong way I guess Hip Hop which began as rebel music, music with a message is now being used to sell Big Macs with Extra Bacon.

Dub MD: Do you have a new project in the works? what's it called? and what can heads out there expect from it?
Cymarshall Law: The new album is Cymarshall Law & Mr. Joeker: Hip Hop In The Soul it comes out August 2008, heads can expect an upgrade from the previous project Hip Hop In The Flesh as far as fluency of the album I feel like my rhymes got better, Its Raw its from the Heart its Hip Hop from my Soul.

I've chosen Mr. Joeker who produced some on my last project to produce this whole album and the beats are amazing. It comes out August 2008 look for the Hip Hop In The Soul (I'm Am Emcee) video soon!

Dub MD: With this project, what artists & producers are you connecting with this time round?
Cymarshall Law: Supastition gotta ask him if should I put Kam Moye on the cd cover, KRS-ONE, Skit Slam, Mary Lou and One Be Lo possibly another feature if I can wrap them up in the next few days!

"People are like snowflakes no 2 alike, and when a person realizes who they are well its on and popping and I always knew before I knew, I knew who I was everything you hear me rap is just me"

Dub MD: Your part of the Rawkus 50, can you tell us a little about that and how you got involved with them?
Cymarshall Law: I'm one of the 50 Emcees Rawkus Records felt were the future of Hip Hop, They had a contest to become one of them, which I didn't enter but someone affiliated with them got at me and said he had a spot for me if I wanted I accepted, its been cool, no real beefs here, I'm glad to say I got down with them for a piece of my career, but yea its all about Freedom Entertainment.

Dub MD: You've got a mixtape series out right now called "Cyology", how did you come up with that concept?
Cymarshall Law: Cyology to me means the study of Cy who is me and I come at the music on all different aspects of me for this series, its grown pretty popular I'm about to release part 3 the only difference this time Ill have it for free download expect that sometime in May.

Dub MD: What do you think is your most defining and unique characteristic that sets you apart from every other emcee out there?
Cymarshall Law: That's easy I'm Me. People are like snowflakes no 2 alike, and when a person realizes who they are well its on and popping and I always knew before I knew, I knew who I was everything you hear me rap is just me, to me it sounds good because I've learned how to be me but just on top of music, artists are dope to be able to keep your wit, style and swagger but stay on beat kinda like jump roping with mad flavour respect to all dope Emcees out there!

And another thing there's a whole a big ass part of Hip Hop fans that are not being represented, the Rude Boy who is a regular dude don't be Bussing his Gun or selling shit, but He is Still A Rude Boy for many reasons and getting rowdy is not even beyond him, he just see the big picture and getting his while reading Gandhi biography and burning a L in between watching A Bronx Tale and changing his kid diaper. I rep that dude and that's unique about me.

Dub MD: If you could describe yourself as an emcee in 4 words, What would they be?
Cymarshall Law: Original, Creative & Forward Thinking!

Dub MD: For your fans who haven't seen you perform yet, are you planning on going on tour anytime soon?
Cymarshall Law: Yes the Shows I have many coming, I'm waiting on confirmations on several tours right now, the albums coming out August and I like to perform, look out for me and ill look out for you.

Dub MD: What is on tap for Cymarshall Law for the rest of 2008 and beyond?
Cymarshall Law: I'm on the new Pacewon + Mr. Green Album, Channel Live new album, Snowgoons Album, Ill be working on the album imma hit ya'll with next after the one that didn't even come out yet, Good Things are happening to me everyday for my music career so I'm sure there are things that will happen this year that I do not yet know of. But yea Cymarshall Law & Mr. Joeker : Hip Hop In The Soul (August 2008)

Dub MD: Do you have anything to say to the fans? anything you wanna get off your chest? any shout outs?
Cymarshall Law: I think that the fans are getting to know me some now that's cool I don't have much to say, I'm glad ya'll riding with me I appreciate it probably more than you know, my people don't stress ya self out remember the things you blessed with, check out my group album with my bro/partner Skit Slam we are Ever liven Sound the album is called Freedom and produced by the Beatnikz its on iTunes now along with a bunch more of my music thank you! my new solo album Hip Hop In The Soul August 2008 Freedom Entertainment! www. myspace. com/cymarshalllaw get at me, success and clarity.
